Sterling silver earrings with round mokume gane inlay.

The hooks are soldered onto the earrings, so they don’t dangle too much. They are made with sterling silver and you can close them behind your ear.

Mokume Gane translates from the Japanese as ‘wood grain metal’. Mokume consists of metal sheets made into laminated blocks through fusion. Then it is forged and rolled through a rolling mill, filed, drilled and rolled out again until we have a thin sheet with a variety of patterns.

Because of the nature of mokume the pattern varies, so each pair of earrings is unique.
